Staff Accountant

Job Description:

The Accountant will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the finance department by executing daily tasks with a strong attention to detail. This role will utilize strong accounting knowledge, time management skills and effective problem solving to ensure success.

1. Accounts Payable
   1. Enter Vendor Invoices into Encompix for payment.
   2. Reconcile Vendor Statements.
   3. Process A/P checks semi-monthly and all other miscellaneous check runs. Match paid invoices.
   4. Clear checks on bank statement.
   5. Maintain Vendor W-9 files.
   6. Resolve vendor issues (credit and debit memos).
2. Accounts Receivable
   1. Invoice customers from job folders.
   2. Enter cash receipts.
   3. Run monthly open-aging report. Follow up on outstanding A/R invoices.
   4. Prepare bank deposits.
3. Vendor maintenance in an ERP system.
4. Banking, processing bank deposits, including trips to the bank.
5. Processing employee expense reports, verifying expenses are within the company guidelines, correcting errors, questioning abnormal expenses and entering into the finance system.
6. Company credit card reconciliations and communication for obtaining supporting documentation.
7. Project costing.
8. Filing and records retention.
9. Assisting with monthly and year-end tasks.
10. Assist with payroll, special projects, and phone lines as required.
