Fluid Power Engineer

DESIGN ENGINEER – FLUID POWER SYSTEMS

Essential Functions:

  1. Design of hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems.
    1. Coordinate hydraulic and pneumatic systems with Mechanical Design Engineers
    2. Have a copy of function requirement sheets from Design Engineer prior to system design
    3. Include a complete set of calculations (pressure, volume, horsepower, and size) for each design for design documentation
    4. Attend design review meetings with design engineers, department managers and other appropriate
    5. team members
    6. Complete purchase Bill of Material, Excel spread sheet to purchasing and engineering.
    7. Design any necessary stands, pans, brackets, etc. in SolidWorks
  1. Act as primary fluid power purchasing agent.
    1. After drawings are released, entry into ERP system
    2. Quoting and cutting purchase orders
    3. Coordinate outside vendors' scope of work with internal production schedules.
  1. Act as primary engineering consultant for production during system assembly.
    1. Make decisions on suggested changes and improvements from production departments.
    2. Operational and Functional questions.
    3. Assist in system check out during line start-up.
    4. Coordinate all system tagging and follow-up completion before required date.
    5. Revise or correct all schematic diagrams before job shipment.
    6. Supply spare parts lists to Service/Manuals
    7. Send highlighted specs to manufacturing.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
